MMXXV Edition I, Tennessee Whiskey Cask
A finite ultra-premium Australian Single Malt matured in a rare ex-Tennessee Whiskey cask, constructed to explore the intersection between American whiskey oak, structural dryness and Australian climate concentration.
This release is one of the three whiskies in Australia's Answer, in Three Casks, published by Imbibe Magazine on 2 September 2026.
This Exceptional Cask Collection release was developed for serious collectors seeking elevated texture, integrated oak maturity and provenance and rarity. The ex-Tennessee Whiskey cask contributes charcoal mellowed structure from the Lincoln County Process rather than overt sweetness.
Aggressive thermal expansion and contraction inside the cask accelerate interaction between spirit and oak, amplifying viscosity, aromatic density and concentration while reducing yield through elevated angel's share evaporation. Individually numbered, non-chill filtered and released as an extremely finite collector allocation.

Nose
Restrained and notably dry on opening, with lemon peel, cut hay and warm stone over a fine cereal grain base. Air rewards patience here. A clear citrus lift builds across ten minutes rather than arriving all at once.
Palate
Lean and direct. Green apple and under ripe pear meet a sour mash grain core, with a herbal, almost leafy edge that keeps the whisky taut. The texture is lightly oily rather than heavy, and the cask strength carries flavour without heat.
Finish
The finish is where this whisky gathers. Long and clean, building citrus, dry grain and a gentle tingling spice, with no sweetness to lean on and none required.
Maturation Philosophy
This release demonstrates how uncommon American whiskey cask provenance can be reinterpreted through Australian climate maturation to create amplified concentration, elevated mouthfeel and ultra-premium oak integration.
Australian Climate Influence
Australian maturation creates repeated barrel movement, increasing contact between spirit and oak. This intensifies extraction, raises evaporation and concentrates flavour, producing a more finite and textural collector whisky.
Collector Positioning
Positioned above the Premium Range, this release is intended for serious collectors and private whisky cellars seeking archival Australian whisky with uncommon cask pedigree. See our guide to building a private whisky cellar, and why the single cask rewards the same obsession as a vintage sports car.
Ownership and Provenance
Every bottle carries its own number and arrives with a certificate of authenticity recording that number by hand. The certificate is encrypted, and each set carries unique features that triangulate with the house anti-counterfeiting technology, so an imitation fails at the first check.
Each numbered bottle is eligible for entry in the Baroque Whisky registry of ownership. The owner's name is recorded from the day the bottle leaves Australia and the entry is maintained for 25 years from the date of purchase, so an auction house or a future buyer can have provenance verified at the source rather than taken on trust.
Serving Philosophy
Built primarily for contemplative neat consumption, and unusually generous with time in the glass. A small addition of room temperature mineral water opens both the aroma and the palate considerably, and the house recommends it for a first tasting. The lean structure also suits spirit-forward cocktails such as a Premium Old Fashioned, where the grain and citrus remain legible rather than buried.
Pairings
The dry, grain led profile favours a milder wrapper rather than a heavy Maduro. See The Art of the Cigar Pairing and our cigar pairings.
