MMXXV Edition II, Antique Tawny Cask
A finite archival Australian Single Malt matured in an ex-Antique Tawny cask of interleaved French and American oak staves, constructed to showcase oxidative complexity, concentrated dried fruit structure and long form maturation architecture.
This release is one of the three whiskies in Australia's Answer, in Three Casks, published by Imbibe Magazine on 2 September 2026.
This Exceptional Cask Collection release is designed for collectors seeking fortified wine cask provenance, antique oak integration and cellar grade rarity. Antique Tawny port casks carry decades of controlled oxidation into the spirit, a story of where the cask came from as much as what is in the glass.
Accelerated thermal interaction inside the barrel intensifies extraction, aromatic density and palate viscosity while evaporation progressively reduces total yield and reinforces rarity. Individually numbered, non-chill filtered and released as a highly restricted collector allocation.

Nose
Slow to open and then generous. Wood char and toasted sugar arrive first, turning round and savoury with air, with figs, raisins and walnut oils emerging behind pipe tobacco, warm pepper and a smoky sweetness that fills the glass.
Palate
Opulent and unmistakably fortified in character. Toasted marshmallow, caramelised popcorn and butterscotch carry a concentrated core, with dried figs, tobacco leaf and dark cocoa behind them. Oxidative rancio runs underneath, left by decades of slow oxidation in the stave. The texture is what sets it apart: creamy, fleshy and thoroughly mouth coating.
Finish
Long and plush, closing on baked brown sugar, cocoa, honey and a lingering raisin sweetness. Closer to dessert than to austerity, and it holds its warmth well past the swallow.
Maturation Philosophy
This release explores the relationship between fortified wine oxidation, antique oak architecture and Australian climate maturation, producing amplified texture, aromatic depth and remarkable palate concentration.
Australian Climate Influence
Australian climate pressure increases extraction and evaporation inside the cask, concentrating both flavour and rarity. The angel's share becomes part of the rarity architecture rather than a simple production loss.
Collector Positioning
Designed for serious collectors seeking ultra-premium Australian whisky shaped by oxidative maturation and fortified wine cask pedigree. It sits naturally in a considered cellar. See building a private whisky cellar.
Ownership and Provenance
Every bottle carries its own number and arrives with a certificate of authenticity recording that number by hand. The certificate is encrypted, and each set carries unique features that triangulate with the house anti-counterfeiting technology, so an imitation fails at the first check.
Each numbered bottle is eligible for entry in the Baroque Whisky registry of ownership. The owner's name is recorded from the day the bottle leaves Australia and the entry is maintained for 25 years from the date of purchase, so an auction house or a future buyer can have provenance verified at the source rather than taken on trust.
Serving Philosophy
Constructed for contemplative neat consumption where oxidative complexity, textural density and fortified wine structure evolve across a slow tasting ritual. A little room temperature mineral water lengthens and deepens the aroma, and the house recommends it for this edition in particular. The tobacco note makes it an exceptional companion to a considered cigar pairing.
Pairings
Dried fruit and cocoa density pairs with Maduro wrapper cigars and dark chocolate. See our cigar pairings and food pairings.
