Specification

Australian Single Malt whisky. Single cask, ex-Antique Tawny of interleaved French and American oak staves. 60.20% ABV, natural cask strength. Non-chill filtered, natural colour. Sixty bottles, individually numbered 1 to 60. One of 180 bottles across the MMXXV trilogy, and no more will be made.

Collectors in the United States may now secure this edition through the trade. The house fulfils orders from wholesalers nationally and from retailers in California, Florida, New York and New Jersey, and trade buyers are invited to place orders through the Contact page.

Nose

Slow to open and then generous. Wood char and toasted sugar arrive first, turning round and savoury with air, with figs, raisins and walnut oils emerging behind pipe tobacco, warm pepper and a smoky sweetness that fills the glass.

Palate

Opulent and unmistakably fortified in character. Toasted marshmallow, caramelised popcorn and butterscotch carry a concentrated core, with dried figs, tobacco leaf and dark cocoa behind them. Oxidative rancio runs underneath, left by decades of slow oxidation in the stave. The texture is what sets it apart: creamy, fleshy and thoroughly mouth coating.

Finish

Long and plush, closing on baked brown sugar, cocoa, honey and a lingering raisin sweetness. Closer to dessert than to austerity, and it holds its warmth well past the swallow.

Maturation

Fortified wine oxidation, antique oak architecture and Australian climate maturation act on one another here. Climate pressure raises extraction and evaporation, concentrating flavour and rarity together, so the angel’s share becomes part of the architecture rather than a simple production loss.

Ownership and Provenance

Every bottle carries its own number and arrives with a certificate of authenticity recording that number by hand. The certificate is encrypted, and each set carries unique features that triangulate with the house anti-counterfeiting technology, so an imitation fails at the first check. Each numbered bottle is eligible for entry in the Baroque Whisky registry of ownership. The owner's name is recorded from the day the bottle leaves Australia and the entry is maintained for 25 years from the date of purchase, so an auction house or a future buyer can have provenance verified at the source rather than taken on trust.

Serving

Built for contemplative neat consumption, where oxidative complexity and fortified wine structure evolve across a slow tasting. A little room temperature mineral water lengthens and deepens the aroma.

Collectors in Canada are supplied through their provincial liquor board, and collectors in the United States through the trade; please contact us before ordering and the house arranges supply. Customers in other regions are invited to contact us prior to ordering and we will arrange delivery wherever regulations permit. International Deliveries, Duties and Taxes

Prices for delivery outside Australia are shown in your local currency and do not include the import duties, excise, taxes or customs clearance fees of the destination country. These are set by the destination country on the declared value of the whisky, are payable by the recipient to the carrier or customs authority before the parcel is released, and cannot be estimated by the house in advance. A parcel refused at customs, or not collected, is returned to us at the recipient’s cost, and any refund is net of the delivery and return charges.

Alcohol Deliveries Within Australia

Baroque Whisky is a trading name of The Bond Store Pty Ltd, an alcohol manufacturer licensed by the Australian Taxation Office and holder of South Australian liquor licence 57712323 (Packaged Liquor Sales) under the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 (SA). Every delivery within Australia is made in accordance with that Act and with the liquor laws of the state or territory of delivery.

Orders may be placed only by a person aged 18 years or over, and only for delivery to a person aged 18 years or over, including orders sent as gifts. It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.

Every parcel is handed to an adult. The person accepting the delivery may be asked to sign a declaration that they are 18 years or over, or to show an Australian driver’s licence, an Australian proof of age card, a passport or a photographic keypass identification card. If no person aged 18 years or over is available, or proof of age is requested and not produced, the parcel will not be left and the carrier will arrange redelivery or collection.

Alcohol is never left unattended. Every parcel requires a signature on delivery, and the carrier is instructed not to leave it in a safe place.

We will not supply alcohol to a person who appears to be intoxicated, and a delivery may be withheld in that case. We do not deliver to any area where the sale, supply or possession of alcohol is prohibited or restricted by law, including declared dry areas and alcohol protected areas.

We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, where we reasonably believe it has been placed by or for a person under 18 years, or that supplying it would breach the liquor laws of the state or territory of delivery.

Refund and Return Policy

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to choose a refund or replacement for any major failure with our products, or have the failure rectified with a replacement, repair or refund (at our discretion).
