Specification

Australian Single Malt whisky. Single cask, rare ex-Meunier primary fermentation French oak. 59.7% ABV, natural cask strength. Non-chill filtered, natural colour. Sixty bottles, individually numbered 1 to 60. One of 180 bottles across the MMXXV trilogy, and no more will be made.

Nose

Reserved at first and worth the wait. Malted barley and ground black pepper open into freshly brewed black tea, red berries and a cooling herbal lift, with restrained brioche from the cask's lees contact and a faint savoury depth beneath. Bay leaf sits at the back.

Palate

Dry and structured, with the sweetness held right back. Black tea and red cherry run through a spiced core of cardamom, coriander and black peppercorn, and a savoury, almost umami weight gives the whisky unusual presence. The texture is creamy despite the dryness, medium weighted and mouth coating.

Finish

Long, dry and precise. Spiced oil coats the palate and fades cleanly, leaving red fruit, tea tannin and a cool menthol trace.

Maturation

Rare wine cask provenance, dry structure and Australian maturation converge on aromatic precision. Climate intensifies extraction and evaporation, producing heightened concentration from a single finite cask.

Ownership and Provenance

Every bottle carries its own number and arrives with a certificate of authenticity recording that number by hand. The certificate is encrypted, and each set carries unique features that triangulate with the house anti-counterfeiting technology, so an imitation fails at the first check. Each numbered bottle is eligible for entry in the Baroque Whisky registry of ownership. The owner's name is recorded from the day the bottle leaves Australia and the entry is maintained for 25 years from the date of purchase, so an auction house or a future buyer can have provenance verified at the source rather than taken on trust.

Serving

Built for contemplative neat consumption, where spice, red fruit and oak integration develop slowly. Unusually for a whisky at this strength, it is at its most complete undiluted.

International Deliveries, Duties and Taxes

Prices for delivery outside Australia are shown in your local currency and do not include the import duties, excise, taxes or customs clearance fees of the destination country. These are set by the destination country on the declared value of the whisky, are payable by the recipient to the carrier or customs authority before the parcel is released, and cannot be estimated by the house in advance. A parcel refused at customs, or not collected, is returned to us at the recipient’s cost, and any refund is net of the delivery and return charges.

Alcohol Deliveries Within Australia

Baroque Whisky is a trading name of The Bond Store Pty Ltd, an alcohol manufacturer licensed by the Australian Taxation Office and holder of South Australian liquor licence 57712323 (Packaged Liquor Sales) under the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 (SA). Every delivery within Australia is made in accordance with that Act and with the liquor laws of the state or territory of delivery.

Orders may be placed only by a person aged 18 years or over, and only for delivery to a person aged 18 years or over, including orders sent as gifts. It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.

Every parcel is handed to an adult. The person accepting the delivery may be asked to sign a declaration that they are 18 years or over, or to show an Australian driver’s licence, an Australian proof of age card, a passport or a photographic keypass identification card. If no person aged 18 years or over is available, or proof of age is requested and not produced, the parcel will not be left and the carrier will arrange redelivery or collection.

Alcohol is never left unattended. Every parcel requires a signature on delivery, and the carrier is instructed not to leave it in a safe place.

We will not supply alcohol to a person who appears to be intoxicated, and a delivery may be withheld in that case. We do not deliver to any area where the sale, supply or possession of alcohol is prohibited or restricted by law, including declared dry areas and alcohol protected areas.

We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, where we reasonably believe it has been placed by or for a person under 18 years, or that supplying it would breach the liquor laws of the state or territory of delivery.

Refund and Return Policy

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to choose a refund or replacement for any major failure with our products, or have the failure rectified with a replacement, repair or refund (at our discretion).
